We Can't Spell "Esotouric is Back on the Bus" Without "U" & Saturday is The Real Black Dahlia
Gentle reader,
Thank you to the many friends old and new who have already purchased tickets to join us tomorrow, our 17th wedding anniversary, as we host the first Esotouric bus adventure since the world shut down in early 2020.
That tour, of course, had to be our flagship The Real Black Dahlia, a 1940s journey from the Downtown fun zone to the then-new westside suburbs, on the trail of a mysterious young woman and the cops, reporters, psychiatrists and true crime freaks who hungered to know her, dead or alive.
We’re also grateful to Spectrum News, which has been rebroadcasting their featurette about this tour to celebrate our return to the road. You can watch that here and get a taste for what to expect.
Only a taste, though: we’re changing the tour up to have more time off the bus, and we’ve learned since first giving this tour in 2007 that it is always different—reflecting the changing city, the insights of our thoughtful guests, and something we can’t quite put our fingers on, but which might be the spirits of old L.A. who ride along and shape the experience as only they can.
There are still some seats available for tomorrow’s excursion, and it wouldn’t be the same without “U”—so join us, do!
yours for Los Angeles,
Kim & Richard
Esotouric
Psst… If you’d like to support our efforts to be the voice of places worth preserving, we have a tip jar and a subscriber edition of this newsletter, vintage Los Angeles webinars available to stream, in-person tours and a souvenir shop you can browse in. We’ve also got recommended reading bookshelves on Amazon and the Bookshop indie bookstore site. Or just share this link with other people who care.
