Episode #96: Remembering the Trails Restaurant on ole’ Route 66

Our focus this week is on the Trails, a legendary Western-themed Route 66 roadhouse that operated in Duarte, California from 1952-2001. We talk with Duarte City Planner Jason Golding, who shares colorful memories of his first job, as a Trails busboy. We also visit with Larry Moon, co-owner of Pasadena’s Di-No Computers, founded by his father-in-law Sal Cordaro, famed throughout the San Gabriel Valley as the longtime organist in the Trails’ lounge.

We’ll also discuss the last-minute reprieve for Vidiots, a city plaque installed in memory of the infant killed at the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk and our thoughts on recent development announcements and boosterism along Broadway. All this and more and more as Kim & Richard usher in the week of February 9th, 2015.
