The history of the parks along the Arroyo and the Pasadena Fwy is one of bait and switch -- not currently uncommon but it was likely something new way back in the time when the first freeway was constructed.
This is not one of the narratives we explore on this particular tour, which is focused on the stories associated with individual buildings, and on mid-century historic preservation advocacy, and not on infrastructure. The parkway aspect has definitely been lost over the years!
