Notes is where we share breaking Los Angeles preservation news, links and photos
if you use social media, consider following us there
Gentle reader,
Social media is fragmented and confounding, but we still find it can be a powerful tool for timely historic preservation advocacy, sharing links we find interesting (like today’s Los Angeles Times story featuring our Save the Morrison Hotel petition) and making connections with others who care about what’s really going on in Los Angeles. It’s also a convenient place to post the photos and short videos we capture on our urban adventures.
So in addition to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Mastodon, Threads, Bluesky, TikTok and Reddit, you’ll find us on the social channel for our newsletter channel, Substack Notes. Give us a follow if inclined.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to News from Esotouric's Secret Los Angeles, you’ll automatically see our notes in your feed. Feel free to like, reply or share. You can also publish notes of your own, or even launch a newsletter to tell your own stories of Los Angeles, or whatever you’re passionate (or irked) about!
If you encounter any issues, you can refer to the Notes FAQ. We’re looking forward to seeing you in digital spaces, and perhaps for an in-person walking tour when we resume those in a couple of weeks. Want to go exploring before Angelino Heights & Carroll Avenue on January 18? Book a private walk for a small group and you can pick from 16 different tours—and enjoy a more free form experience, if desired, because the tour is just for you.
Yours for Los Angeles,
Kim & Richard
