Fox Apt case is interesting. Wrong addresses have troubled the LADBS for years. It's why nothing was done for months at the Pig'n Whistle about illegal construction, LADBS thought the work was tied to permitted work at the Egyptian. The application fails to note that the 1925 permit also lists 2387, 89, 91, and 93 Ensley Ave as the address. Odd numbers correctly place the building on the west side of Ensley. But, the current numbers are 1749, 51, 53, and 55. I've tried sending corrections to LADBS about permit issues before, but as soon as they correct the files someone makes another mistake.

The LADBS system is very messed up. They do not use NavigateLA for address checks. Their permit files are also messed up. I was tracking the complaint history for the PnW and all of a sudden entries appear for the Netflix project. Some of the issues deal with legacy addresses. There is no way I know of to track all of the addresses that have been assigned to a building over time. Some buildings have one official address, but multiple mailing or business addresses. It gets crazier when a city block is torn down and the mega building with dozens of shops is assigned one official address. Or City Planning decides to get creative assigning an address to a project but you cannot enter the project address into the LADBS system because it's an odd format.
