Yes, someone seems to be - but I've missed them during the daylight hours and the phone's bene disconnected. I wanted to see if they could throw the lights on so I could shoot it in the rain at night. The sign is a classic.
Unfortunately, it appears that plans are moving forward to demolish the motel and redevelop this lovely site, which is a result of the new state pressure on local zoning. The sign is a classic, even with the alterations for filming and name changes. Maybe something can be done to at least keep it alive on site. https://www.crescentavalleyweekly.com/news/03/16/2023/keeping-an-eye-on-an-iconic-la-crescenta-location/
Hi folks, just letting you know the La Crescenta Motel appears permanently closed - hope the Neon sign can be saved.
Thanks for the heads up. That's a wonderful property, and we wonder what's up. Is there anyone still living on the parcel, do you know?
