My parents' pharmacy the Crown Drug Co was across the street from Bnai Brith Lodge from 1950 to 1975. Your story is truly unbelievable to me as it represents my growing up years. and the history of the area. I remember the teamsters coming to the fountain at our family drug store to eat lunch. Often my mother would talk with these men as friends of the drug store. To remove all of what we know of the time period by removing architecture of the era is unbelievable. Thank you for your efforts to safe these memories for all of us who were around in those years. Saving o0ur visible history is very very important to our identity as a city.

Good work Babs

Thank you for the memories, Babs. As long as the west facade is intact, the best way to see it is reflected in the upstairs windows of the pharmacy building. There is a conversation between these two buildings that has been going on longer than any of us have been alive, and we hate that it might end in ruins. Maybe it won't, though!

The prominence of the Western genre in Hollywood began with the groundbreaking work of William S. Hart as actor, producer and director alike. It would be a shame for him to no longer be properly acknowledged for his achievements.
