I wanted to let you know I emailed about the Melrose Bungalows — thank you for bringing this to my attention! Thank you for working to preserve important architecture and buildings in L.A., and an even bigger thanks for looking out for feral kitties!

Thank you for sending an email. We're so worried about those cats, and hopeful that now that the city is on notice that they can be looked after, no matter what happens with the bungalow court.

Best Friends Animal Society might be able to help out with this situation if the cats end up needing to be relocated. Please keep me posted.

Hollywood is far enough that we're not able to keep close watch on this parcel, but it seems like the city is going to let the owner tear it down. We put out the alerts we do in hopes that people closer to the sites or who care a lot will take up the mantle. Please share with your cat people and if we can help amplify, let us know and we will!

I will look into it!

Very sorry about Numa. What a handsome kitty! Assume you took him to MASH (I took my cat to an internist there for a while before changing to one in WLA, a bit closer to the South Bay).

Thank you. Numa was a patient of Dr. Reina at L.A. Pet Clinic.

Ah, not sure why I assumed a specialty hospital. Just looked it up and Dr Reina seems very well-loved by his patients and humans!

He's very gifted and kind, with a great staff.

That’s, sadly, quite rare these days. Esp with corporations taking over so many veterinary practices.

The Melrose bungalows look frightening. What a shame to lose such interesting architecture.
