Watch now | Gentle reader, Today, something terrible happened on Sunset Boulevard. The Stires Staircase Bungalow Court—which in an ethical city run by rule of law and not by crooked bureaucrats and politicians who give every concession to real estate developers, and only occasionally are arrested for taking bribes, would have been declared a protected landmark—was demolished.
Thank you for documenting the sad and oh-so-wrong destruction of the Stires bungalow court. I would not have been able to watch, knowing what a jewel has been lost. I’ve loved Los Angeles for 74 years and always will, and appreciate all of your efforts to preserve the city’s dear and historic buildings. Bless the two of you!
Thank you for your support and love for the city. It's that love that is going to get us through these dark times when so much material goodness is lost. They cannot demolish our love.
