We seek out the date of the Burial of the Unclaimed Dead every year and share on our social channels and newsletter, so check back next December if you'd like to attend the ceremony. Yesterday's service was also livestreamed by the County, and you can still see that on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1238766333979290
It looks like I was a bit slow on the draw for the Eventbrite. It now says "sales ended" for this event. I'll try to call the phone number as well, but I'm commenting here as you requested in the original post, should that be of use.
Regardless of the outcome, thanks for making me aware of this event. I was glad to hear of it.
Sorry you weren't able to sign up on Eventbrite for the Burial of the Unclaimed Dead. Please let us know if calling the number frees up a spot for you.
We have been keeping an eye on the sign up page, and while we don't know how many tickets the County made available this time, were encouraged that tickets remained available at least until Saturday morning. Last year, with a cap of 75, the free tickets sold out almost immediately.
If you are not able to get a ticket to attend--and we hope you do!--you can still view the ceremony from close by through the chain link fence at the Eastern end of Evergreen Cemetery, where attendees are encouraged to park. The ceremony is amplified, and you can tune in to the live stream if you want a clearer view of the speakers.
Hope to see you on Thursday, and thank you for caring about the unclaimed and their memorial service, and for responding here about tickets no longer being available.
If it helps for future endeavors: When I called the phone number, they said the registration period closed "on Wednesday or Thursday" of last week.
I still intend to show up, on the off-chance a lot of folks don't show. If everyone shows up, my heart will be warmed and I'll happily stand outside the chain link fence.
Hope you were able to attend in person yesterday. We were glad to see that in addition to the names on the free ticket list, the County had allocated 20 spots for walk ins. It was a great turn out and a moving service.
I got my ticket. Someone I knew died on 12/26/21 and I don’t believe her body was ever claimed. Is there any way to find out? Will there be a list of those whose names are known at the burial?
There is an annual PDF for those who are to be buried together, but they have not put the 2021 list online yet. It is probably still possible for family or and maybe friends to claim someone's cremains, so you might want to call the Coroner and inquire.
I'm only hearing about this now, Thursday night, from your post on Facebook. I wanted to see if there was a video of the ceremony and found you.

Thanks again for publicizing this.

Thanks for the heads up. I got my ticket and will definitely be there
Looking forward to seeing you!
